Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barrister Mutiu Agboke, on Friday while addressing the Muslim faithful at the University of Ibadan central mosque after jumah service said politicians who plan to rig this year's election are ignorant of the mechanisms put in place by the electoral umpire - INEC - and the "created innovations will be showcased tomorrow".
He said each polling unit will be manned by three security personnels which may be police officer, immigration officer, civil defence officer and that military officers will only be placed in some strategic places of the state and not at the polling unit.
He also warned people who have their temporary voters card but failed to get their PVC not to bother going to the polling unit as the commission has gotten a report that some politicians are insinuating such people to go to the polling unit, insist on voting with the TVC and then cause trouble at the polling unit.
He however dispelled the rumour that his life is being threatened and that INEC is secretly creating polling units, he said each polling unit is to have not more than 500 voters, hence, it is pertinent for the commission to create new polling units which are not secretive to political parties.
In his concluding address, the commissioner said " let all of us remain calm, this election shall not be rigged".
