Jihad Week

 

This is the second annual main programme. It is aimed creating awareness to all programme is that it coincides with the annual conference of the society. Yhis invariably means that Jihad Week is used to usher in new set of Executives. Among the programme of the Week are;

Awareness train

This is the first programme of the week. It commences after Jumat Service where all Muslim Students are expected to move round the whole of the University Campus. This programme is meant to serve as a means of informing the entire community about the commencement of the annual Jihad week.

Hall to hall dawah

This is the second programme of the week where the Ummah from one hall of residence visit the Ummah in another hall. This is aimed in fostering the ideological relationship between the members. It is been co-ordinated by the Central Dawah Committee (CDC).

Islamic awareness and exhibition day

This programme involves Muslim Students in all the faculties exhibiting various skills of professionalism. Here, members from other faculties are able to learn new things their counterpart. Also, corporate bodies sually register ad display their goods.

Launch of Adh-dhikr Magazine

This is the annual presentation and launch of the society’s magazine. Like Orientation Week committee, Members of the Jihad week Committee are expected to jointly present detail report of their activities before during and after the week to the Cenral Executive Council, two weeks after the completion of the programme. Both the Orientation and Jihad Week are strictly supervised by the secretaries of the society.

"  Narrated AbuHurayrah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious; the prayer is obligatory on you behind every believer, pious or impious, even if he commits grave sins; the (funeral) prayer is incumbent upon every Muslim, pious and impious, even if he commits major sins."
